The second Ouse Muse of 2013 saw some new faces at the mic and a steady growth in audience numbers. Highlights included a spectacular full scale classical ode to whisky (Ian Colville), newcomer Ian Ortiz and the triumphant return of Helen Osborn. Meanwhile the old lags did their stuff with aplomb. There was a nice social buzz about the evening, some convivial bar snacking (very good looking Calamari) and a general feeling that we are back on the up after January’s rather small gathering.
It’s interesting to note that despite the variable cast we have had 10 performers in each Ouse Muse of the 12/13 season so far. That has given us the luxury of time to perform, although I hope the pressure on stage time is going to start growing a bit. Certainly our mail list is growing steadily, our audience numbers are ticking up and we have several poetry-related initiatives in the pipeline. Hope to see as many as possible at the next Ouse Muse on 21st March – World Poetry Day!! If you want to join the mail list the link is here, or our facebook group link is here.
